It was early morning at one of my favorite places to photograph, Sauvie Island. The model was standing in the field, I had a 150-year-old Petzval lens on my 8x10 camera, the image felt timeless. I was reminded how wonderful it is to greet each new day, every morning a fresh start.
This hand-pulled polymer photogravure print is made with Charbonnel bone black and Prussian blue inks on Rives BFK paper. I decided on a chine collé with Gampi Kitaka. The cool black ink on the warm color tissue created a feeling of early morning light. I printed an edition of 10 numbered prints and 2 A/P prints.
