I spend a summer day working on a friend's property with one of my favorite models. I had my 150-year-old petzval lens on my 8x10 camera when I made this negative. I enjoy thinking about how 150 years ago these were the standard lenses photographers of the time used. I wonder about all the images this lens has made over the years and feel good.
This hand-pulled photogravure print is made with Charbonnel noir 55981 black and warm sepia ink, with a dash of Charbonnel sanguine ink on Hahnemühle copperplate paper. I printed an edition of just 9 numbered prints and 3 A/P prints.
