Often my photographs are inspired by a prop offered up by a friend or fellow artist. when my dear friend Susan DeWitt lent me her crinoline I knew something good would come my way in the form of an idea. I made this picture and when I showed it to Susan she gave me the title " Moth". This way of working feels the best to me, my best props are almost always volunteers and I am grateful for them,
This hand-pulled polymer photogravure print is made with Gamblin Portland Black, and sepia inks, on Rives BFK paper. I decided on an edition of 10 numbered prints and 3 A/P prints.
