After reading The DaVinci Code a novel by Dan Brown I became very interested in the golden rectangle and the divine proportion. To this end, I acquired a 5x8 inch view camera and placed the golden rectangle around the landscape. I worked its way for around a year before I tired of cutting 8x10 sheet film down in the dark.
The truth is I struggle when photographing in the landscape, On the occasion that I am able to find a conversation among the elements and the audience I make prints.
This hand-pulled polymer photogravure print is made with Gamblin stiff Portland black and sepia ink, with a dash of Charbonnel Geranium red ink on Hahnemühle Copperplate paper. I printed an edition of 8 numbered prints and 2 A/P prints.
