Printmaking studio session

Spend up to 4 hours working on your printmaking at Cascabel Press studio.  The studio is fully set up for making photogravure prints from your plates. These sessions are for artists who know how to print and make plates yet need a space and a press to work with. Ray will be around to help with logistics and answer questions, and you might be sharing space with other printmakers.  Sessions will need to be scheduled in advance to reserve your time. The studio will provide the tools and some materials, other materials can be purchased during the session if needed.

Cascabel Press will supply:

  • 18"x 36" Takach etching press.
  • Plate and paper cutter.
  • space and plastic for wet packing paper.
  • UV exposure box
  • Sink for processing plates and soaking paper
  • Brayers and ink knives
  • Newsprint
  • Gamsol solvent
  • Rags and paper towels
  • Paste for chine collé

Available for purchase:

  • Paper - mostly Hanhnemühle copper plate but a few others as well
  • Toyobo KM-95 plate material including imaging with Epson P800
  • Mentoring by the hour if needed
  • ink

Artists will be expected to supply all remaining materials and supplies.

 

Studio sessions are to be scheduled in to be sure space is available.

Do you offer private mentoring at this time

Yes, I am fully vaccinated and accepting students to my studio that are likewise vaccinated

Can we talk about a custom mentorship ?

Yes indeed, I often create workshops that are tailored to the needs and interests of my students, I am able to provide studies in all Alt process photography genres.

Can you mentor me in the making of photographs as well as the processes?

I will look forward to helping you find your way with making photographs of what ever your desire, I can help you do discover that same desire as well.

How about selling work?

Over the years I have explored many venues of commerce for my work and I will gladly share them with you as you decide what is best for your situation.
