On the first Saturday we were in Paris we left by high speed train to spend the weekend in Strasbourg. I was invited to attend the opening evening of an exposition that was curated by the French collector Madeleine Millot-Durrenberger. Titled oeuvre en main(s) the exposition included several dozen works by 30 photographers, all from her private collection. Although I have been to many openings that included my work over the years, I was overwhelmed by this exposition. The photographs on view are important and I felt honored to be included and to have my pictures so well displayed. The exhibition is in two small rooms in a space located off this lovely courtyard in the heart of Strasbourg, intimate and warmly inviting. I've made a new friend, Jean Daubas, who helped me sort all of the details involved in getting my work into the collection, as well as my stay in Strasbourg. Curator Madeleine Millot-Durrenberger welcomed me to the exposition with a fine introduction and hosted us in her lovely home for the weekend. It really does not get better than this.
