On the road 

Traveling is one of my great passions and I feel lucky when I  find myself out in the world looking around.  Next weekend we are off to the UK for 2 weeks, spending time in London, Edinburgh, and Dublin. It is a bit of a whirlwind trip but I have been itching to find myself in these big cities. Going to Museums and galleries is our main focus. We usually walk and take public transit so we will be able see and feel the cities we visit. 

Over the last several years when we have traveled in Europe I have made photographs with my beloved Rolleiflex and T-max 400 film.  This trip I am changing things up a bit.  For those of you who know me well you might want to sit down. I have decided not to take my film camera…

There are many reasons for this big choice but mostly it is about logistics and the high costs involved.  I have not been able to successfully take film with me on airplanes, plenty of rolls have been ruined that way.  I usually end up buying film here, shipping to my destination, then shipping it back to the us. Last trip my film and shipping costs were well over $ 1000.00.  So this trip I will be taking a simple digital camera that a very good friend has loaned me and my new favorite thing, a sketch book.
